Cutting-Edge Diagnostics for Sick and Healthy Pets
Using diagnostics gives our veterinarians important information about your pet's health. Our animal clinic offers the latest technology for screening healthy pets and diagnosing sick ones. These tools include:
- Digital X-ray
- In-house and Commercial Lab Testing
- Ultrasound
With diagnostics, our veterinarians can perform an internal exam of your pet. This means that we can better understand the condition of their bones, soft tissue organs, and overall physiology. Many pet health issues start small and can remain hidden until serious symptoms develop. By screening healthy pets we can detect problems early and initiate preventative care. Additionally, diagnosing sick pets helps us find the right treatment and give our patients the chance to make a full recovery.
Digital X-Ray Imaging
X-ray has come a long way in helping veterinarians visualize internal systems and make correct diagnoses. With digital X-ray, we use only about 10% of the radiation that traditional film X-ray uses, and images are acquired more quickly which means less stress for your pet. Furthermore, we can save X-ray images on a computer and send them to other veterinary hospitals if necessary. This tool helps us detect and diagnose:
- Broken Bones
- Arthritis
- Bone Deformities
- Bladder Stones
- Organ Enlargement
- Heart Problems
- Foreign Bodies
- ...and more

Laboratory Testing
Our pet hospital utilizes both our in-house lab and a commercial lab for our pet diagnostics testing. Our in-house lab is an efficient tool for running routine heartworm, tick screening, and stool tests as well as tests on pets that are sick or having a pet health emergency. This gives us a quick turnaround for results, which is critical for urgent situations.
However, in most cases when we are doing annual wellness blood work or specialty tests, our veterinarians prefer to send samples to outside laboratories.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound is an advanced imaging tool that provides us with a real-time, moving image of the internal organs. More important, our ultrasound procedures are completely painless, non-invasive, and drug-free. Unlike X-ray, ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves and the echoes they produce to create images. For expert analysis, a board-certified radiologist comes to our pet clinic to perform ultrasounds whenever they are needed. With ultrasound technology, our veterinarians can study the shape, function, and size of your pet's internal organs.
