David Graham, DVM

I have had a passion for animals all my life and had many kinds of pets while growing up. I always enjoyed going to the vets’ offices to listen to their advice about how to best care for them, and was moved by the concern they displayed for our pets’ wellbeing. These were the people that fostered my dream. I can still remember the conversation with my parents at the dinner table when I told them I wanted to be a veterinarian… I was in the third grade. They both encouraged my dream and realistically described what it would take for me to one day attend the University of Florida, the gateway to the UF College of Veterinary Medicine. I began my journey that day.
When I started at the University of Florida in 2015 it didn’t take long for me to adopt the Gainesville area as my new home. After graduating in 2019 with a degree in Animal Sciences, I went on to the College of Veterinary Medicine, where I received my degree in 2023. I take great pride in being a Double-Gator and am grateful that I was able to attend my dream school twice.
It is said that finding a career you enjoy and have a passion for is like never having to work a day in your life… For me, that career is being a veterinarian. I love being able to spend each day working with animals – promoting health and well-being so they can be happy and active companions; providing healing and comfort when they are sick or injured; and advising their owners on how best to care for their pets – much like those who fostered my dream when I was young.
When I am not with my patients, I am with my fiancé, Morgan, who is a PA in Trauma Surgery. We have a house-full of 4-legged kiddos – Indy (Black Lab/Dane), Zola (Great Dane), and Ravioli (one-eyed orange tabby) – and a backyard coop with 12 chickens. Outside of the hospital, you will usually find us enjoying the outdoors… Whether that be kayaking at the river, off-road riding, relaxing at the beach, or backpacking in some foreign country, our favorite thing to do is to get outside & connect with nature.
