Individualized Preventive Health Care Programs

Preventive or “wellness” care is provided to assure good health and to detect health concerns before a disease process begins. Preventative care involves annual examinations, periodic diagnostic blood work, dental care, vaccinations, and consultations with our veterinarians regarding any health concerns. We will develop an individualized health care program to ensure a long, happy and healthy life for your pet.

Immunization

Vaccination protocols are determined according to your pets age, breed, health status, and life style. Because every pet is different, our veterinarians will discuss with you which vaccinations are appropriate for your pet.

Medical Diagnostics and Hospital Care

Should your pet ever become ill, our doctors can perform the diagnostic testing needed to determine your pets illness and provide appropriate therapy through hospitalization or out patient care. Our hospital is fully equipped to provide intensive hospital care when necessary. Our doctors always have your pets best interest at heart and will work closely with veterinary specialists when your pet requires specialized care.

Laboratory and Radiology Services

Our diagnostic laboratory services include an on site blood chemistry analyzer and routine diagnostic tests as well as more extensive lab work available through an outside laboratory.

X-rays are often necessary to assist in the diagnosis of an illness or orthopedic problem. Our hospital is fully equipped with the latest X-ray technology.

Surgical Services

Our veterinarians perform a wide range of surgical procedures including but not limited to spaying, neutering, growth removals, intestinal and bladder surgery, orthopedic and cosmetic surgery. Specialized surgical procedures are performed by a board certified veterinary surgeon at our hospital.

Dental Services

Like people, pets can develop dental disease. Dental disease causes bad breath and tooth loss, as well as more serious health problems such as heart and kidney disease. We recommend regular dental cleanings to maintain your pets teeth and overall health. We provide complete dental services including dental cleanings, tooth extractions and oral surgery. Our doctors can discuss with you how to provide dental care at home for your pet. Regular home dental care can reduce the frequency of dental cleanings.

Behavioral Counseling

We offer consultations for a wide variety of behavioral concerns such as housebreaking, behavior training, chewing , house soiling, separation anxiety and aggression problems. We will provide referral to an appropriate trainer or behavioral specialist as needed.

Nutritional Counseling

Proper nutrition is essential to your pet’s good health. In addition to providing all the nutrients that are necessary for a healthy life, a proper diet can help manage certain medical conditions. We can help find a nutritional regimen that’s right for your pet.

Boarding

We offer complete boarding services for cats and limited boarding services for dogs. Our boarding for dogs is limited to those with medical concerns or needing special care.

Drop-Off and House-Call Services

For your convenience, we offer drop off services at no charge. Feel free to drop off your pet on the way to work and pick up on the way home. Please call ahead to schedule drop off appointments. House call services are available with prior arrangement.

Bathing

We offer bathing services for cats or dogs. Sorry, we do not have grooming services available.

Penn Hip X-Ray and Certification

Compared to the traditional OFA hip x-rays, the Penn Hip method can more accurately diagnose hip dysplasia. This technique can be used to evaluate puppies as early as 4 months old.  We have a Penn Hip certified veterinarian on staff that can perform this specialized certification procedure.
